Staying Motivated

Motivation and drive are the two most difficult things to overcome when working out.  You must keep motivated to do the workout and you must have the drive to keep pushing forward.  Here are some tips to keep yourself motivated when times are tough.

  1. Set achievable goals – By setting goals for yourself you hold yourself accountable.  When you see yourself achieving goals it will keep you motivated to do better.  You must make sure that the goals are realistic because if they are not it can destroy your motivation and drive.
  2. Exercise with a friend – It always helps to have someone to do things with you.  You will be able to push each other and hold each other accountable.
  3. Make it fun – Do some different things within the workout to help keep you motivated.  By changing up some things it will help to keep you interested and pushing forward.

I have said it many times, but motivation is the key to sticking with any workout or exercise.  Do whatever it takes to keep yourself motivated because that is the key to achieving any fitness goal.  A workout is only as good as the amount of time you spend doing it.  I hope that you continue on this journey with me.  I truly believe if we continue to do this and change our lives that others will follow and we will be able to create a community that will change the world.


5 Minute AB Workout

We all want an 8-pack of abs.  Most people think that it takes countless hours in the gym doing sit-ups and crunches.  I’m not going to tell you that getting washboard abs is an easy thing to do, but it can be done if you follow a few simple steps.  The first step is that you must be committed to your diet.  I’m not saying that you need to go on a diet or anything.  You just have to be smart about what you eat by cutting out some of the junk food and snacks you eat.  You can still eat your favorite foods, but must understand that everything is better in moderation.  The second step is to follow this ab workout and do it five times a week.  The workout will only take five minutes per day, but can give you the results that you want.  The main reason that workouts fail is because people quit doing them.  I promise if you stick with the workouts I have given you that you will find the results that you are looking for.  Let’s continue to make a change together.

Leg Raises


Both exercises together


Do a round with each of the three exercises in succession.  One round will be a set and you will need to do three rounds/sets to complete the workout.  Rest for 30 seconds between sets and always remember to breathe.  Let’s start this new workout and finish the summer on a high note.

Day 2

Lower Body Workout:

Lunges – 3 sets

Wall Sits – 3 sets

Step Ups – 3 sets

Calf Raises – 3 sets

Square Jumps – 3 sets

Between each set I continue to recommend that you walk in place or walk around to keep your heart rate up and this will be your cardio for the workout.  This workout will work your legs and all of the muscle groups within them.  You need to alternate days and workouts between upper and lower body so that you do not overwork any muscle groups.  Overworking can be just as bad as not exercising at all.  If your muscles do not have time to recover you will not get the results you are looking for.  Please follow the link to a video of me doing this workout if you need any help with the exercises or want to work out with me.  Remember to find your motivation because sticking with it is the hardest part.  I hope that these videos and workouts will inspire you to make a change in your life.  I hope that you will work out with me and change your life.  Let’s start a movement together.
